Welcome to Junglist Online
This site seems to receive more than its fair share of visitors. The interest is great and it's nice to know that the Junglist Movement is still kicking along, but there's not a lot to see or do here just yet. Confession time; I'm not actually a Junglist. Well, not in the purist sense anyway.
In fact, one of my favourite bands is Metallica and I haven't worn cammo since the early 90's. Like many others out there, I happen to like techno and heavy metal equally. In addition, I've been known to listen to some of the lamest 80's pop you could imagine. However, I was listening to techno (and heavy metal, for that matter) - along with all the variants - way before any of it became mainstream, so you'll have to give me credit for that at least. :)
I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing with this site yet. I'd like to do something beyond slapping up another forum, for which I think there are already plenty. I have a particular idea in mind, but it involves a fair bit of code and infrastructure, so it could take a while. If you have ideas of your own, feel free to email me suggestions.
It has been suggested that I provide a brief history on Junglists and the like, but I kind of figured that the visitor's Jungle\D'n'B knowledge was intrinsic in the visit itself. Nevertheless, I might provide one anyway and try to de-lamertise it as much as possible.
Anyway, the links to the left can provide you with sites to visit in the meantime (if you're aware of others, let me know):
By the way, if you're using Windows, this page is best viewed through a Safari Browser with the Quartz Engine running. On a Mac, it shouldn't matter. Under all circumstances, high pixel density (ppi) is preferable. Text-based webpages simply don't look right on any other setup.
I've thrown this two-page wonder together from scatch pretty quickly. Over time, I'll endeavor to improve things.
